John Borges

Until last month I was wearing two hats, one as service manager the other as operations manager. My role now is that of operations manager. Before being hired by Burton's Fire, I was employed with City of Modesto in the fire division, as fleet manager for fifteen years. Prior to that, I was the senior equipment mechanic for the City of Ceres for ten years.

Years ago while attending Modesto Junior College and working for the local Cadillac dealer, I volunteered with a fire department for more than five years. This tenure showed me I didn’t want to be a firefighter, but rather the person to repair the engines. Being the person who could repair or build those trucks has turned into a great career, with many benefits along the way. The biggest benefits are meeting new people everyday.

This November I will be completing my fourth year with Burtons Fire. My background is in ASE heavy truck. I am certified in all major fire pump builders and Bendix brakes. I am also certified in most all Pierce products. I hold an associate degree in business from Modesto Junior College and currently have placed my bachelor’s degree in business administration on hold. My motto is "I don't have all the answers but know people who do." I am willing to help out our customers as best I can. It is my hope that our company can provide you with assistance in all your parts and service needs.

Lately my free time is spent with my lovely wife of fourteen years and our two children. Everybody in our family loves the outdoors and their pets which include dogs, goats, horses and cattle.

It was twenty years ago I started working with fire trucks. I started out on the shop floor as an assemblyman moving up through the ranks to welder/fabricator, shop foreman, purchasing/parts manager, and now to my current position of Service Manager at Burtons Fire. In between all of that I also took on accounts receivable and warranty administration duties.

In the past twenty years in this industry I have met a lot of people, many of whom I call friends, and what I have learned is that customer service is king. Without our customers there isn’t a Burton's Fire.

Please feel free to call me anytime with any of your fire apparatus needs. If I don’t have the answer, one of our expert staff members here at Burton's Fire certainly will.

I have three wonderful kids. In our free time we enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, skiing and horseback riding.

Anthony Richter

In 1980 I began working with fire trucks at Van Pelt Fire Trucks in Oakdale, CA. I started out in the body shop with John Burton being my lead man. Here it is 30 years later and I am back working for John and his brother Ken. In those 30 years I have gained a lot of experience. I have worked as a welder/fabricator, electrician, lead man, shop foreman, and service manager. I am CA State Fire Marshall certified in pumps and accessories, as well as electrical. I hold certificates in Allison electrical programming and I am capable of programming Internationals DLB Multi Plex System.

I am married to my wife Genetta and I have three kids. My daughter has a B.A. in psychology and is currently working on her Masters degree. My oldest son works at PG&E in the gas department. My youngest son is currently in seventh grade. I enjoy the 49ers, Giants and Nascar. My favorite things to do are spending time at the ocean, the mountains for the day, or going camping.

Service Operation:

Pump testing capability:

Currently there is a 30,000 gallon 3-stage water well with two (2) weirs that is capable of testing pumps up to 2000 GPM.

Burton's Fire, Inc offers mobile pump testing in the field. A water supply source would be required by the fire department.

Our shop and storage area is 23,000 square foot total. We have ample indoor and outdoor space to accommodate our increasing customers' needs.
